Audumbar

Day 1: Pune > Siddhagiri > Stavnidhi > Kothali > Khidrapur > Kuntugiri
Day 2: Kuntugiri > Ramlingh Tirth > Ichalkaranji > Kumbhoj
Day 3: Kumbhoj > Audumbar > Pune
Clocked 700+ KMs

How to reach: On NH4 from Pune side before Kolhapur take exit to Wadgaon. Proceed to Astha and look for Audumbar diversion.
Time of visit: May 2011

We started early AM. The road was running through lush green farms once we left wadgaon. On the way a huge peacock crossed the street. Unfortunately it happened so quickly that I didn’t have time to stop and pull my camera...

Adumbar is small village in the interiors. A sacred temple of Lord Dattatraya is located on the banks of the Krishna River. This place is overgrown with audumbar trees and hence the name.

Just on the opposite banks lies a Bhuvanesvari temple. The boatman takes you across the river in 5 minutes charging you just 5 rs.

We returned back to Pune in the evening with wonderful memories.
