The temple is said to be built in 1925.

It is said that when Bhagwan Mahavir attained Moksha in Pavapuri, at same time, Bhagwan Mahavirs, first first disciple (Gautam Gandhar), attained Kevaldyan in Gunawa. The temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Mahavir Temple. Old idols of Bhagwan Kuntunath, Bhagwan Parasnath.
